The 18-1814 is a pressure-altitude transmitter that converts static pressure into encoded barometric altitude data for air traffic control. This altitude encoder interfaces with Mode C/S transponders via Gillham code or serial output, providing pressure altitude information for ATC replies. Installed in the pitot-static and transponder system, it supplies critical altitude data during flight operations.
