The 1U262-006-45 is an Edo-Aire 4000D-6 directional gyro (heading indicator) for aircraft instrument panels. This air-driven, lighted instrument provides stabilized heading reference for analog cockpits and autopilot systems, including S-Tec autopilot outputs. The gyro maintains accurate directional information during flight by using air pressure to spin its rotor, compensating for magnetic compass errors and oscillation.
Install per aircraft maintenance manual specifications, aligning the instrument to magnetic compass during preflight setup. FAA TSO-C5e certified for general aviation and commercial aircraft.
