The 8d1437 is an oil pressure switch that monitors engine lubrication system pressure. When oil pressure reaches a set threshold, the switch closes an electrical circuit to trigger instrumentation and warning systems. Mounted directly to the engine oil gallery, it connects to the aircraft electrical system and Hobbs meter for flight time recording.
Installation requires positioning the switch at the designated oil gallery port and connecting leads per the aircraft maintenance manual. Bombardier de Havilland applications reference this component for engine monitoring functionality.
