The a-890-8 is a slug counterweight designed to mass-balance aircraft control surfaces and reduce flutter. This concentrated weight installs ahead of the hinge line on wings, ailerons, elevators, or rudders to achieve proper aerodynamic balance. Manufactured from steel or aluminum for durability in flight conditions, the counterweight prevents control surface oscillation and maintains aircraft stability.
Installation and balance verification must follow aircraft maintenance manual specifications and FAA AC 43.13 mass-balance requirements for airworthiness compliance.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
