The AN365-428 is a self-locking hexagonal nut with a nylon insert for prevailing-torque retention. Made of steel with 1/4-28 UNF threads, it conforms to AN365 specifications and supersedes MS21044N4. This nut secures AN bolts in aircraft brackets and structural assemblies, preventing fastener loosening from vibration and flight loads.
Installation requires torquing per aircraft maintenance manual specifications. Replace the nut if prevailing torque falls below specification limits.
