The BS2173 is a dedicated battery that powers an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) during aircraft distress situations. This self-contained power source keeps the ELT beacon operating independently of the aircraft's electrical system, ensuring transmission capability even if main power is lost. The battery installs per manufacturer specifications and requires replacement after one cumulative hour of operation or at 50% battery life, whichever comes first.
Expiration dates must be marked and logged per 14 CFR 91.207 regulations. Compatible with ELTs meeting FAA TSO-C91a/C126 standards.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
