The ci490-1 is a dual-band antenna combining Iridium satellite communications (1616–1626.5 MHz) and GPS positioning (L1 1575.42 MHz) in a single integrated unit. This antenna interfaces Iridium transceivers and GPS receivers in aircraft avionics systems, providing global communication and navigation capability. Mounted on the upper fuselage with unobstructed sky view, the antenna follows FAA TSO-C159a (Iridium) and TSO-C144/C190 (GPS) standards.
Installation requires approved STC documentation and manufacturer guidance to ensure proper signal reception and system performance.
