The dg04 is an overvoltage relay that monitors 28-volt electrical bus voltage in aircraft alternator systems. When voltage exceeds safe limits—typically during regulator runaway events—the relay disables the voltage regulator and removes alternator field excitation to protect avionics and electrical components from damage. Installed in general aviation and corporate aircraft electrical systems, this relay provides critical protection against voltage spikes that could destroy sensitive avionics, instruments, and control systems.
Installation and trip/restore settings must be verified per the aircraft maintenance manual and applicable FAA approvals or supplemental type certificate (STC) data.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.

Avionics compatibility depends on your aircraft model and existing installation. The OVER VOLTAGE RELAY is available in: As Removed. We recommend checking your aircraft's wiring diagrams and STC documentation, or contact our avionics team for compatibility assistance.
Availability of an FAA 8130-3 tag depends on the part condition. Overhauled and repaired units typically include 8130-3 documentation. As-removed units may include a removal tag with trace history. Contact us for specific documentation on the condition you need.
We can arrange bench testing through our network of FAA-certified repair stations. Call (904) 998-9101 for testing availability and turnaround times, or submit an RFQ with your specific requirements.
