The MS124655 is a helical screw thread insert that restores and reinforces internal threads in aluminum aerospace structures. Manufactured from stainless steel to MIL-I-8846 and MS124-655 specifications, this insert prevents thread stripping and damage in high-vibration environments. Installation involves drilling the damaged hole to a specified size, tapping the new hole, and inserting the coil using a dedicated insertion tool.
After installation, the tang breaks off flush with the surface. Commonly used in MRO maintenance for panel repairs, fastener bosses, and structural reinforcement where original threads have been compromised.
