The NAS50-112 is a National Aerospace Standards retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove and axially retain components on shafts and in housings. This steel ring follows the NAS50 series specification and provides positive component retention under vibration and operational loads. Commonly used for bearing retention in engine accessory housings, transmission assemblies, and gearbox applications.
Installation requires proper ring tools to compress the ring into its groove without damaging the component or groove surfaces. Verify groove dimensions and ring specifications with your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog before installation to ensure correct fit and retention capability.
