The UGR-3 is a UHF glideslope receiver that processes ILS glidepath signals in the 329.15–335 MHz band to provide vertical approach guidance during instrument landings. This receiver drives a cockpit indicator display and works in conjunction with a localizer receiver and glide slope antenna in NAV/COMM installations. The unit receives and demodulates glideslope radio signals, converting them into needle deflection information for pilots during precision approaches.
Installation requires verification per aircraft and avionics documentation, with FAA TSO-C34 governing glideslope receiving equipment standards.
