The VR515F is a 28-volt aircraft voltage regulator that controls alternator field current to maintain stable bus voltage. Installed between the main bus and alternator field circuit, typically mounted on the firewall. This regulator automatically adjusts field excitation as electrical load and engine speed vary, preventing overvoltage conditions and protecting avionics and electrical systems.
Installation follows aircraft maintenance manual specifications and FAA AC 43.13-1B wiring practices. Note: VR515F-5 is the current supersession for ongoing service support.
