The 1131-1 is a battery temperature monitor for aircraft nickel-cadmium battery systems. This device continuously senses cell temperature in the battery bay and triggers alerts when overheating occurs. Upon detecting excessive temperature, the monitor enables automatic charger disconnect to prevent battery damage and thermal runaway.
Installation follows the aircraft wiring diagram and maintenance manual specifications, with testing required per manufacturer procedures. Complies with 14 CFR 25.1353(b)(6) requirements for battery thermal protection.
