The 590-0230 is an aircraft battery providing DC power for engine starting, ground operations, and emergency standby supply. This lead-acid or nickel-cadmium battery delivers high current output during engine cranking and maintains voltage stability throughout flight operations. Installed in the aircraft electrical system, it supplies power to starter motors, avionics, lighting, and essential instruments when the engine is not running or during generator failure.
The battery connects to the main bus through a contactor and charging system. Maintenance and replacement follow FAA AC 43.13 acceptable methods and manufacturer specifications.
