Product Description
The 279-404 is a pneumatic deicer boot for aircraft wing leading edges. This rubber component bonds to the airfoil surface and connects to the de-ice control system, inflating in timed cycles to break and shed accumulated ice during flight. The boot expands and contracts rhythmically, fracturing ice buildup and allowing aerodynamic forces to remove it.
Designed per SAE AS8804 standards for pneumatic ice-protection systems. Installation requires bonding to the leading edge surface and integration with the aircraft's de-ice pneumatic lines per OEM maintenance manual and FAA-approved data.
