The 3lo-453 is a G-activated inertia switch that detects sudden deceleration or impact forces in aircraft. Upon sensing a crash event, the switch changes electrical state to trigger protective or command functions in connected circuits. Commonly used to mark events on cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders, or to cut power to systems during impact.
The switch must be mounted rigidly and oriented according to approved aircraft installation documentation to ensure proper acceleration sensing and reliable operation during emergency conditions.
