The 41470-1128 is an ARC RT-459A receiver-transmitter designed for aircraft ATC (air traffic control) transponder systems. Operating in the 1030/1090 MHz radar beacon bands, this unit receives ground radar interrogation signals and transmits altitude and identification data back to ATC facilities. The transponder interfaces with aircraft antennas and altitude encoders to provide continuous position reporting during flight.
Installation and testing must follow the applicable aircraft maintenance manual and FAA regulations 14 CFR 91.413 and Part 43 Appendix F. Commonly found in Cessna and general aviation aircraft equipped with ARC avionics packages.
