Product Description
The 422-990 is a solid aluminum alloy rivet conforming to AN/MS aerospace standards for permanent sheet-metal fastening. This rivet provides vibration-resistant joints in aircraft airframe construction where flush or protruding head configurations are required. Installation involves driving the rivet from one side with a rivet gun while a bucking bar supports the opposite side, creating a mechanical lock.
Commonly used in wing, fuselage, and control surface assemblies on general and commercial aircraft. Grip length and diameter selection depend on the specific joint thickness per the aircraft maintenance manual and FAA AC 43.13-1B guidelines.
