The 487-844 is a momentary spring-return starter switch installed on the cockpit start panel. When actuated by the pilot, it energizes the starter solenoid and commands the starter contactor to crank the engine. The switch provides momentary contact during engine start, then automatically returns to the off position when released.
Used in general aviation and corporate aircraft piston and turboprop engines. Installation requires proper circuit protection and wiring per the aircraft maintenance manual and applicable FAA guidance.
