The 49-139 is a thermal relief plug (fusible plug) installed in aircraft wheel hub ports to vent tire pressure at a preset temperature. When wheel temperatures exceed safe limits during landing or braking, the plug activates and releases pressurized air, reducing burst risk. Used in Bombardier Learjet 40/45 landing gear assemblies.
The plug requires replacement after activation or during routine tire service. Installation follows the aircraft maintenance manual and FAA AC 43.13-1B guidance, with specific torque specifications for the wheel hub port.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
