The 54b1s is an outside air temperature (OAT) sensor that measures ambient air temperature for aircraft avionics and air data computers. This sensor supplies critical temperature data used to calculate true airspeed and air density during flight operations. Mounted in undisturbed external airflow away from engine heat sources, it provides accurate readings across the aircraft's operating envelope.
