The 5501y-s100 is a servo altimeter that displays barometric altitude using an internal servo mechanism to drive the pointer. This flight instrument receives static pressure input from the aircraft pitot-static system and converts it to precise altitude indication for the flight deck. Used in autopilot and altitude-hold systems to provide altitude reference during automated flight control.
Installation requires calibration per the aircraft maintenance manual, followed by pitot-static system testing per 14 CFR 91.411 regulations. Complies with FAA TSO-C10b performance standards for certified aircraft installations.
