Product Description
The 554-6286-012 is a precision shim from Rockwell Collins used in avionics rack assemblies to control stack-up tolerance and maintain alignment between mounting brackets and equipment frames. This shim compensates for minor dimensional variations during installation, ensuring proper fit and load distribution across mating surfaces. Applied during bracket alignment procedures in avionics equipment mounting, the shim must be fitted, torqued, and inspected per the aircraft maintenance manual and FAA AC 43.13-1B guidance.
Proper shimming prevents stress concentration and maintains structural integrity in avionics installations.
