The 6100pcr106 is a nylon-insert self-locking hex nut designed for aircraft fastening applications. The nylon insert provides prevailing torque that resists loosening from vibration and thermal cycling, eliminating the need for lock washers or safety wire in many installations. Conforms to AN365 specifications (superseded by MS/NASM21044).
Primarily used to secure line clamps, cable trays, and non-structural hardware assemblies throughout the airframe. Installation must remain within the nylon insert's temperature limits—typically -65°F to 250°F depending on insert material. Never use on rotating shafts or high-speed applications where continuous friction would degrade the nylon insert.
