The 622-3167-042 is a Collins Aerospace yaw damper computer (562C-8F) that stabilizes aircraft yaw by commanding rudder deflection to damp Dutch roll oscillations. This avionics line-replaceable unit (LRU) interfaces with the aircraft autopilot and flight control systems to provide automatic stability augmentation during cruise and approach phases.
