The 7040b is a vertical speed indicator (VSI) that displays aircraft climb or descent rate in feet per minute via the static system. This United Instruments 7000-series instrument mounts in a standard MS33549 3-inch panel cutout and connects directly to the aircraft's static line. The VSI provides real-time rate-of-climb indication for pilots during climb, descent, and level flight phases.
FAA TSO-C8b certified for general aviation and light aircraft. Installation requires connection to the static system per the aircraft maintenance manual.
