The 82-11 is a steel cotter pin designed to lock drilled bolts, clevis pins, and castellated nuts in aircraft assemblies. This fastener prevents accidental loosening of critical connections by inserting through aligned holes and bending the legs to secure the nut or pin in place. Manufactured to NASM24665 (formerly MS24665) and legacy AN380/AN381 standards for aerospace reliability.
Commonly used in aircraft linkages, control systems, and structural assemblies where positive mechanical locking is required. Installation follows aircraft maintenance procedures and FAA AC 43.13-1B guidance for proper bending and positioning.
