The 822-1466-001 is a Collins Aerospace DME-4000 distance measuring equipment transceiver for aircraft navigation systems. This remote-mounted unit interrogates ground DME transponders to provide slant-range, groundspeed, and time-to-station data displayed on cockpit navigation instruments. The multichannel transceiver interfaces with flight management systems and avionics via ARINC 429 or CSDB protocols.
FAA TSO-C66c certified and DO-160 qualified for environmental conditions including temperature, vibration, and altitude. Installation requires integration with approved avionics suites per aircraft maintenance manual specifications.
