The 88-38 is an aircraft voltage regulator that maintains steady electrical bus voltage in 14- or 28-VDC systems. It controls alternator or generator field current to protect avionics, batteries, and electrical components from overvoltage during varying engine speeds and electrical loads. Installed between the engine-driven alternator and the main electrical bus, this regulator automatically adjusts field excitation to hold output within safe operating limits.
Installation requires verification of system voltage and wiring integrity per the aircraft maintenance manual and FAA AC 43.13-1B guidance.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.

Hydraulic component compatibility depends on the aircraft system design. Common aviation hydraulic fluids include MIL-PRF-5606 (mineral-based), MIL-PRF-83282 (synthetic), and Skydrol (phosphate ester). Verify the Voltage regulator against your aircraft maintenance manual for fluid compatibility.
Overhauled and repaired hydraulic components are pressure-tested per manufacturer specifications and include 8130-3 documentation. The Voltage regulator is available in: New Surplus. Contact us for test documentation on your selected condition.
In-stock hydraulic components ship same business day before 3 PM EST. We provide 24/7 AOG support at (904) 998-9101 for urgent hydraulic system needs. RFQ submissions are typically quoted within 24 hours.
