The 8a583-000 is a thermal relief valve designed to protect aircraft hydraulic systems from overpressure caused by fluid thermal expansion. When trapped hydraulic fluid heats during operation or ground heat soak, this valve automatically opens to relieve excess pressure, preventing system damage and component failure. Installed in hydraulic lines per SAE ARP4835A guidance, the valve maintains specified pressure settings while allowing controlled fluid bypass.
Proper orientation and porting per the aircraft maintenance manual ensure reliable thermal protection during all flight and ground conditions.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.

Hydraulic component compatibility depends on the aircraft system design. Common aviation hydraulic fluids include MIL-PRF-5606 (mineral-based), MIL-PRF-83282 (synthetic), and Skydrol (phosphate ester). Verify the VALVE,THERMAL against your aircraft maintenance manual for fluid compatibility.
Overhauled and repaired hydraulic components are pressure-tested per manufacturer specifications and include 8130-3 documentation. The VALVE,THERMAL is available in: New Surplus. Contact us for test documentation on your selected condition.
In-stock hydraulic components ship same business day before 3 PM EST. We provide 24/7 AOG support at (904) 998-9101 for urgent hydraulic system needs. RFQ submissions are typically quoted within 24 hours.
