The a-279 is a threaded lubrication fitting (zerk port) for aircraft structural components. This fitting provides a grease access point to bearings and bushings at control-surface hinge points and other articulated joints. Installed into a threaded boss using standard aerospace fastener practices, it accepts a grease gun coupler during scheduled maintenance intervals.
