The AN363-524 is an all-metal, self-locking hex nut with 5/16-24 threads designed for high-temperature aircraft applications. This nut provides prevailing torque without polymer inserts, maintaining vibration resistance up to approximately 450°F. Equivalent to MS21045-5 specification, it's used in airframe and engine bay hardware where secure fastening under thermal and vibration stress is critical.
Install and torque per aircraft maintenance manual requirements, replacing the nut if prevailing torque no longer meets specification.
