The AN7502-39 is a steel hex castellated nut conforming to AN-series aerospace standards. This nut features a hexagonal head with vertical slots (castellations) that align with a drilled hole in the fastener, allowing a cotter pin to pass through for positive mechanical locking. Commonly used on aircraft landing gear assemblies to secure main axles, drag braces, and high-stress joints where vibration-resistant fastening is critical.
Installation requires torquing per aircraft maintenance manual specifications, then inserting the cotter pin through the aligned castellations to prevent rotation. Equivalent to MS21025 series specifications.
