The MS14145-5 is a self-locking castellated nut conforming to Military Standard MS14145. This thin-profile nut features a prevailing torque design that prevents loosening under vibration without requiring a secondary locking device. Steel construction rated to 450°F handles high-temperature engine and system applications.
Installed on drilled fasteners with a cotter pin through the castellations for positive mechanical retention. Used on rotating control linkages and critical fastening points where vibration resistance is essential. Torque and installation per FAA AC 43.13-1B.
