The MS17825-7 is a self-locking slotted hexagon nut with a nonmetallic prevailing-torque insert in a steel body. It combines a castellated hex profile with vibration-resistant locking to secure drilled-shank aircraft bolts. The nonmetallic insert prevents loosening under vibration while the slotted design accommodates cotter pin retention for positive mechanical locking.
Used in airframe assemblies where dual-locking security is critical. Install on drilled bolts and torque per aircraft maintenance manual and MS17825 specifications.
