The MS21042-3 is a steel self-locking reduced-hex nut conforming to Military Standard MS21042 specifications. This all-metal prevailing-torque nut features 10-32 UNF threads and reduced height design for tight airframe clearances. Engineered to maintain locking performance under vibration and temperatures to 450°F in aircraft structural assemblies.
Install to specified torque per aircraft maintenance manual and replace if prevailing-torque performance degrades. The self-locking feature eliminates the need for secondary lock devices in critical fastening applications.
