The MS21046C6 is a self-locking hexagon nut conforming to Military Standard MS21046/NASM21046. This all-metal prevailing-torque design uses an internal locking mechanism to resist vibration-induced loosening in bolted joints. Manufactured from stainless steel, the nut operates reliably at temperatures up to approximately 800°F, making it suitable for engine compartments and high-heat applications.
Install with compatible MS or AN bolts and tighten to torque values specified in the aircraft maintenance manual. Commonly used in aircraft structural and engine assembly where vibration resistance is critical.
