The MS28774-117 is a PTFE packing retainer (backup ring) manufactured to Military Standard MS28774 per SAE AS8791. This single-turn, scarf-cut design prevents O-ring extrusion in aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic seals operating under high pressure. Installed in O-ring grooves of hydraulic actuators and system components, the retainer supports seal integrity by containing the elastomer within the groove.
