The NAS1291-6 is a self-locking hex nut manufactured in steel with a reduced-height, all-metal prevailing-torque design. This nut resists vibration loosening in aerospace fastening applications through internal locking features that require no nylon insert or deformed threads. Commonly used in airframe panel joints and structural assemblies where space constraints limit standard nut height.
Install per OEM-specified torque values and verify thread size and pitch against the aircraft maintenance manual or Illustrated Parts Catalog before assembly. Cross-referenced to MS21042 series equivalents in many applications.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
