The NAS1772-3 is a self-locking plate nut with an all-metal prevailing-torque locking element and UNJF internal threads. Steel construction provides secure structural fastening in aerospace applications. This nut installs as a riveted, two-hole anchor for blind fastening on access panels and structural attachments.
The self-locking mechanism prevents vibration-induced loosening without requiring safety wire or additional hardware. Torque the mating screw per aircraft maintenance documentation to achieve proper clamp load while maintaining the prevailing-torque locking function.
