The RG-126 is a 24-volt sealed lead-acid battery designed for aircraft emergency and standby power applications. This VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) absorbed-glass-mat battery provides backup power for avionics and essential systems when primary power is unavailable. FAA-PMA and TSO-authorized per Concorde specifications, the RG-126 is not rated for engine starting.
Commonly installed on Short Brothers SD 3-30 and similar aircraft requiring emergency electrical backup. Installation must follow the aircraft maintenance manual, and compatibility should be verified in the Illustrated Parts Catalog before installation.
