The 16-21B is a VHF communication antenna for aircraft fuselage mounting. It operates in the 118–137 MHz airband, supporting line-of-sight voice communications with ground stations and other aircraft. The antenna conforms to ICAO Annex 10 channelization standards (25/8.33 kHz spacing) and environmental qualification per RTCA DO-160.
Installation requires proper bonding to the aircraft structure, adequate ground plane clearance, and coaxial cable routing per the aircraft maintenance manual. Interfaces directly with VHF COM radio transceivers on general aviation and commercial aircraft.
