The 168-2 is a lift detector switch that senses vane deflection in aircraft stall-warning systems. This switch generates an electrical signal to alert pilots of imminent stall conditions, driving a horn or annunciator in the flight deck. Mounted in the stall-warning circuit per aircraft drawings and approved wiring specifications, the switch interfaces with angle-of-attack vane sensors.
Installation requires verification of compatibility with your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog and adherence to FAA stall-warning requirements.
