The 1N5400 is a silicon rectifier diode designed for DC rectification and protection in aircraft electrical systems. This general-purpose device converts alternating current to direct current in power conversion circuits and suppresses voltage spikes across relay coils in avionics applications. Install observing correct polarity—the cathode band indicates negative polarity.
Commonly used as a flyback suppression path in control circuits where inductive loads require transient protection. Follow FAA AC 43.13-1B wiring practices and component datasheet specifications during installation.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
