The 242.1B is a gas-charged hydraulic accumulator for aircraft emergency brake systems. This component stores pressurized hydraulic energy and dampens pressure spikes to maintain stable system pressure during operation. The accumulator uses a piston or bellows design per SAE ARP4553/ARP4378 standards within AS5440-compliant systems.
Installed in brake circuits, it provides energy reserve for emergency braking when engine-driven hydraulic pumps are unavailable. Requires inert-gas precharge and periodic functional leak checks by qualified maintenance personnel per aircraft maintenance manual specifications.
Please note: Product descriptions are provided for informational purposes. Always refer to your aircraft's Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) to verify part compatibility and specifications.
The 242. 1B is a gas-charged hydraulic accumulator for aircraft emergency brake systems.
Hydraulic component compatibility depends on the aircraft system design. Common aviation hydraulic fluids include MIL-PRF-5606 (mineral-based), MIL-PRF-83282 (synthetic), and Skydrol (phosphate ester). Verify the ACCUMULATOR against your aircraft maintenance manual for fluid compatibility.
Overhauled and repaired hydraulic components are pressure-tested per manufacturer specifications and include 8130-3 documentation. The ACCUMULATOR is available in: Serviceable. Contact us for test documentation on your selected condition.
In-stock hydraulic components ship same business day before 3 PM EST. We provide 24/7 AOG support at (904) 998-9101 for urgent hydraulic system needs. RFQ submissions are typically quoted within 24 hours.
