The 3030 is a magnetic pickup sensor that detects rotational speed on aircraft engines and gearboxes. Using variable-reluctance or Hall-effect sensing principles, it generates a non-contact signal sent to tachometers and engine control systems. The sensor mounts facing a ferromagnetic target gear or toothed wheel, reading RPM or gearbox speed without physical contact.
Installation requires setting the specified air gap and applying torque per the aircraft maintenance manual. Commonly used in general aviation and commercial aircraft powerplant monitoring systems.
