Product Description
The AN310C8 is a castellated hex nut manufactured in corrosion-resistant steel per Aeronautical Standard AN310. This nut features slots cut across the top that align with a drilled hole in the bolt shank, allowing a cotter pin to pass through for positive mechanical locking. Used on flight-control linkages and other critical fastening applications where vibration resistance is essential.
After torquing to specification, rotate the nut slightly to align a slot with the bolt hole, then insert the cotter pin to prevent loosening during operation. Standard aerospace fastening practice per FAA AC 43.13-1B.
