The 4500010 is an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) that broadcasts distress signals on 406 MHz with a 121.5 MHz homing frequency for search-and-rescue operations. This crash-activated or cockpit-switched unit meets FAA TSO-C126 series certification standards for aviation safety. Upon aircraft impact or manual activation, the transmitter rapidly alerts rescue services to the aircraft's location, significantly reducing response time.
Installation requires compliance with 14 CFR 91.207 inspection, battery, and functional test requirements per the maintenance manual. Essential emergency equipment for general aviation and commercial aircraft.
