The 453-6603 is an Artex ME406 ELT main assembly providing dual-frequency emergency beacon capability. This TSO-C126 approved transmitter broadcasts 406 MHz distress alerts with 121.5 MHz homing signals through a single RF output. The assembly includes the transmitter unit and integrated battery pack.
Installation requires mounting in an approved ELT tray, programming per the Artex ME406 manual, and compliance with applicable FAA documentation before returning the aircraft to service.
