The AN316-9 is a steel hex check nut conforming to AN316 aerospace specification with 9/16-18 UNF-3B threads. This jam nut locks threaded assemblies by installing against a primary nut, preventing vibration-induced loosening in aircraft control linkages and rod end connections. Install the check nut against the primary nut and torque per aircraft maintenance manual specifications.
